After graduating from the University of Minnesota, Patrick was a lending manager and a credit analyst for a major Twin Cities area bank for more than 5 years. While attending law school at William Mitchell College of Law, Patrick competed in the Rosalie Wahl Moot Court Competition, and was a member of the William Mitchell Law Review. His article A Noose Around the Neck: Preventing Abusive Payday Lending Practices and Promoting Lower Cost Alternatives was selected for publication in Volume 35, Issue III of the William Mitchell Law Review Patrick has clerked for Marso and Michelson, P.A. since 2007. During this time, he interned for the Honorable Daniel Mabley on the felony block and represented clients for the Scott County Public Defenders’ Office for offenses ranging from gross misdemeanors to felonies and parole violations. Patrick's practice is devoted to consumer rights. He sues abusive debt collectors who harass consumers for violations of the Fair Debt Collecton Practices. He also sues credit card companies, credit reporting agencies and other companies for violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Patrick sues Mortgage Companies and Banks that violate the Truth-in-Lending Act. Patrick represents consumers and small businesses who are seeking relief under the United States Bankruptcy Code.
